High-Performance BIBS System (Blown in Blanket System)
The industry standard for complex architecture, higher R Values, and superior soundproofing. We engineer a custom-fit thermal blanket that traditional batts simply cannot match.
The BIBS system (Blow-In-Blanket System) is a patented high-density insulation method where fiberglass is blown behind a specialized fabric mesh, primarily used in new construction. It’s an ideal alternative to higher cost spray foam yet provides a similar seamless insulation solution.
The Technical Gap: When a contractor tries to “stuff” a batt into a custom cavity, it creates compression and air gaps. A mere 5% gap in your insulation can lead to a 50% loss in effective R-value. The BIBS system eliminates this risk. We install a custom fabric “skin” and dense-pack the insulation behind it, ensuring it flows around every wire, pipe, and bracket for a 100% custom-fit seal.

Why BIBS?
Specialized Cathedral Ceiling Performance
Cathedral ceilings are the #1 source of heat loss and ice damming in the Northern Corridor. Because BIBS is blown in under pressure, it stays in place without settling, maintaining its full R-value at the highest peaks of your roofline where heat pressure is most intense.
Certified Workmanship for Elite Builders
We have spent 30 years working with the region’s top builders who demand the BIBS standard. Our application is surgically clean. We ensure the fabric is tight, the density is consistent, and the job site is spotless—meeting the high standards of Muskoka’s premier construction projects.
FAQ
Is the BIBS system better than spray foam?
Both are high-performance, but they serve different needs. Spray foam is an unbeatable moisture barrier, while the BIBS system is often preferred for interior soundproofing and cathedral ceilings where breathability and high-density fiberglass performance are desired. Many Muskoka clients use our “Combo Method”—utilizing both for a total home seal. Explore our Spray Foam options.
Does BIBS insulation settle over time?
No. Unlike standard loose-fill blown insulation, the BIBS system is “dense-packed” behind a fabric mesh under high pressure. This creates a friction-fit that prevents the material from settling or sagging, ensuring your home stays protected for decades.
Can BIBS be installed in an existing home?
BIBS is primarily designed for “open cavity” applications, making it perfect for new builds, additions, or major renovations where the drywall has been removed. For existing “closed” walls, we typically recommend our Blown-In Retrofit solutions. Learn about Attic & Wall Upgrades.
